Here, we will try to keep you up to date with events within the club and also attempt to help reunite you with past players of the club. Old Boys Day is a great day for many reasons not least of all because it is the day the HS Shower Award is presented and players are recognised for their commitment to the club as a player.

The Sydney University Australian National Football Club would like to see you at this year’s Old Boy’s Day - 22nd August 2009 - Sydney Uni Oval No.1
Following the success of last year’s Old Boys Day we would like to invite you down to Sydney University No. 1 once again to the most important day in the home and away calendar. This year Old Boys Day promises a great game of football with the Seniors, Reserves playing old foes UNSW/ES, U18s Colts playing Pennant Hills and Blues and Reds playing UTS (At St Pauls Oval)
There will be ample opportunity to mill with past and present greats, discuss how great you used to be at various pursuits including football and Ladies, enjoy a barbecue and even pull on the boots to once more tread the hallowed No. 1 turf as part of the Past Players Challenge. There will also be a raffle, and, yes, I’m certain meat will figure amongst the minor prizes.
Following the formalities, i.e. the scheduled matches, all will be rejoining to the Forest Lodge Hotel, proud club sponsor for some 10 seasons. Here the traditional Boat Race between the Students and Old Boys will take place. The Old Boys will no doubt be keen to restore some respect after the last couple of years of shock capitulations in this event.
The weekend unfolds as follows. Come along and lend your support to the club on what promises to be a very entertaining day.
Friday 21st August – from 6pm at the grandstand - SUANFC Foundation Launch (the most important night in the Club’s history since Banger’s 75th birthday!)

9.45am - U/18 Colts vs Pennant Hills (Oval No.1)
10am - Reds vs UTS (St Pauls Oval)
11.40am – Past Players sign insurance waiver
11.45am - Past Players Game (bring your boots)
12pm - Blues vs UTS (St Pauls Oval)
12.30pm – Reserves v UNSWES
1pm – Past Players Lunch in the Past Players Pavillion
2.30pm: Seniors vs UNSWES (Oval No.1).
5pm: Forest Lodge
6.30pm: Awards
7.30pm: Boat race - Presidents VIII versus Old Boys VIII

The H.S Shower Award was inaugurated last year as a recognition of being a player over a long period with the club. It is designed to honour a player while he is in his twilight years with something practical rather that a pat on the back once he is done.
2005 winners were Tony "Fluff" Overall and Wilbur "Bur/The Hoff" Macbeth.
To qualify for the award you must have played at least 100 games for the club and as with last years recipients these boys have well exceeded that. The HS Shower Award comes in the shape of a chair, a chair that is sat on with pride whilst showering and sucking on the gas while talking up your performance on the field.
