2010 SUANFC U18s Colts Football Department
In 2009, SUANFC launched its inaugural U/18 side into the Sydney AFL Challenge Cup competition. Having won the minor and outright Premiership, the Colts have now been promoted to the Sydney AFL U/18 Premier Cup.
The inaugural year provided emerging young footballers with a wonderful opportunity to develop their skills in arguably the most AFL-like U/18 training environment in NSW outside of that provided at the Sydney Swans. SUANFC was supported by Collingwood’s coaching resources, including that of former Sydney Uni premiership coach and Swans fullback Rod Carter, their NSW Talent Manager.
In 2010, Sydney University’s Colts will continue to provide the most professional environment in Sydney AFL from which young players can aspire to be drafted by senior AFL clubs. Of course with the introduction of Team GWS, some of our youngsters have their attention focused on selection in the 2010 Team GWS U/18 TAC side.
The club has always provided a place for participants of all abilities, shapes and sizes and in-line with the significant work it has done in recent years to support local junior clubs to further develop the code, it will provide a significant participation and talent pathway for local juniors and those seeking a quality football environment.
