A Better Club

The old boys still lead the Building a Better Club table with 4,700 points ($235 to an end of season party), thanks largely to the nab home loan taken out by a past player who remembered to mention he was a SUANFC supporter. Umpiring duties helped keep the Golds (3,675 points - $184 to end of season party) at the head of the current players, while slightly better Flodge and game day duties points were enough for the Blues (3,530 points - $177) to pip the Reds (3,529 points - $176).

The Seniors' community football efforts helped overcome a lack of opportunity on game day duties to keep them in the hunt (3,141 points - $157), while the Ressies (2,670 points - $133) are glad the U18's (1,563 points - $78) can't drink and miss out on Flodge and Ladies Day points.

The best news is that there are still plenty of points to be made by the end of the season, with Flodge points doubled from this Saturday and big points available for Old Boys Day.

How it works
Teams will be awarded points for a range of actions throughout the year by players, supporters or their family and friends which help make SUANFC a better club, including (but not limited to):

• raising additional sponsorship or fundraising for the club  (Sponsorship and fundraising activities to be pre-approved by the Executive Committee);
• attendance on any Existing Sponsor  (Let the Sponsor know that you are a SUANFC player or supporter and (excluding Wednesday and game day at the Forest Lodge) email abetterclub@suanfc.com with details of your attendance on the Sponsor);
• completion of game day duties;
• earning points in Sydney AFL Club of the Year; and
• not losing, breaking or leaving behind equipment.

Each team can utilise 40% of the value of their points toward their medical services, equipment or team activities  (Team activities are limited to 5% of team points.)

Points:
• Duties: 10 points for each duty performed, -10 points for each duty for which no player provided (double for duties where duty performing team not playing at same ground);
• Umpiring: 100 points;
• Lodge: 10 points per player per Wednesday or game day attendance or team event Now 20 points;
• nab mobile: 0.66% of any home loan and 0.50% of any business loan;
• Other Sponsors: 1 point per $ spent;
• Canteen, clothing, photos, fundraising: 1 point for every $ profit;
• Community football development: 50 points per training;
• Equipment: -1 point for each $ of equipment not returned to shed or otherwise lost.

As a Club, we strive to provide the best playing environment for our members. In the last few years, SUANFC has grown in both size and professionalism. We have grown from 3 teams to our current 6, have re-entered the Premier Division, added an under 18 side at the elite level and have improved access to facilities, equipment and medical services through all of our grades.

But we can be better.

We rely more and more on external sponsors to enable us to provide the playing experience that we aspire to. If we want to attract and retain sponsors, we have to make it worthwhile for them too.

The fantastic efforts of volunteers throughout the club are instrumental in being able to put 6 teams on the park every weekend and these efforts should also be encouraged.

This is why we are introducing the “Building a Better Club” initiative.

How it works

Teams will be awarded points for a range of actions throughout the year by players, supporters or their family and friends which help make SUANFC a better club, including (but not limited to):

raising additional sponsorship or fundraising for the club;
attendance on any Existing Sponsor;
completion of game day duties;
earning points in Sydney AFL Club of the Year; and
not losing, breaking or leaving behind equipment.

Each team can utilise 40% of the value of their points toward their medical services, equipment or team activities.

Points from game day duties, attendance at the Lodge, social events and canteen profits alone could earn more than $1,350 for end of year parties!

Notes:

Let the Sponsor know that you are a SUANFC player or supporter and (excluding Wednesday and game day at the Forest Lodge) email abetterclub@suanfc.com with details of your attendance on the Sponsor
