The Colts are finally where they want to be. Over 18mths after the Club first asked to place a team in the U/18 Premier Cup, AFL Sydney has confirmed today (along with the entire 2010 competition structure) that this will be permitted in season 2010. The promotion is a credit to the players and their parents, along with the coaching staff and relevant Club officials. This whole group has stuck together and worked towards their objectives throughout the second half of 2008 and 2009 to ensure the foundation for a SUANFC U/18 program has been laid. 2010 will also herald the return of the glorious Golds, who will replace the reds in Div 4, who for their Premiership glories have been rewarded with Div 3 status. Hopefully those committed guys who were looking for more game time last year will turn up in droves and with their mates.
SUANFC is calling on any interested players to contact the club via Stephen King (administration@suanfc.com or 0421 655447) as we are looking for new players for the 2010 premiership campaign.
With the addition of a new team in Division 4, Sydney University now provides the greatest opportunity to play footy in the Sydney AFL competition with a side in each of the Open Age Divisions and the U/18 Premier Cup side. The Club recognises all the hard work of current and previous club volunteers, coaches, players and our supporters.
